Welcome
Welcome to Buffer Overrun and its affiliates, Buffer Overdose and Tank Mages!
Buffer Overrun was created in December of 2004 by TopDoc as a SuperTeam based SG. SuperTeams are all about stacked buffs and debuffs, and they're designed to allow a team of 8 chars to just roll over mobs quickly and easily.
The original Buffer Overrun was all-Rad Defenders and Controllers. Due to the 75 member SG limit, it grew to 5 SGs worth of people. The core people hit level 50 in February of 2005. It was revived from time to time and more people hit 50, but we've moved on to more specialized SGs.
Tank Mages was the next Super Team creation. It was a hero SG on Protector consisting of Kinetic, Sonic, and FF Defenders only. Most of the regulars hit 50 on Jan 17, 2006, and this SG is idle now.
Buffer Overdose is a villain SG on the Justice server. It was mostly */Rad Corruptors with some defensive powersets as well (Force Field Masterminds and Sonic, Warmth, and Cold Domination Corruptors). The regulars hit level 50 a while after update 7 went live.
Recently TopDoc has started running more SuperTeams. The Mostly Tanker SuperTeam hit 50 in mid November 2006. It was run out of the Buffer Overflow SG on Freedom. The Fire/Rad Controller SuperTeam followed quickly, with many people hitting 50 in late December 2006. The next SuperTeam was an all-Corruptor (villain) one, run out of the Buffer Overdose SG on Justice, with ideal teams consisting of 3 Fire/Kins, 3 Fire/Darks, and 2 Fire/Sonics. People hit 50 in late Feb or early March of 2007.
Next up is the Mostly Kheldian SuperTeam, starting March 9, 2007.
There is no level restriction to enter the SG. The easiest way to join the Super Group is to join the "Buffer Overrun" global chat channel and ask for an invite. There is no waiting line, review process, or anything else. If you fit the current SuperTeam, you're in.
